WE ARE IN THE DAMN MILKY WAY!!! HOW DO WE NOT LINE UP!!! And the Mayans predicted this event in Y2K, so what makes anybody believe that they'll be right now? But the key is, yes, the world will EVENTUALLY end, but not in 2012. And so what the Mayan calender ends on December 21, 2012. Keep in mind, the mayans were people who set virgins on fire because they *believed* it kept the sun alive. WTF?
-Scoot

P.S. Xbox Live Silver is free of charge and is included with all SKUs of the console. It allows users to create a user profile, join on message boards, and access Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace and talk to other members. A Live Silver account does not generally support multiplayer gaming; however, some games that have rather limited online functions already, (such as Viva Pinata) or games that feature their own subscription service (eg. EA Sports games) can be played with a Silver account. Xbox Live also supports voice and video communication, the latter a feature possible with the Xbox Live Vision; an add-on USB web camera designed specifically for the Xbox 360. The Gamercard of a player with a Silver account has a silver trim, rather than gold.
Xbox Live Gold includes the same features as Silver and includes integrated online game playing capabilities outside of third-party subscriptions. Microsoft has allowed previous Xbox Live subscribers to maintain their profile information, friends list, and games history when they make the transition to Xbox Live Gold. To transfer an Xbox Live account to the new system, users need to link a Windows Live ID to their gamertag on Xbox.com. When users add an Xbox Live enabled profile to their console, they are required to provide the console with their passport account information and the last four digits of their credit card number, which is used for verification purposes and billing. An Xbox Live Gold account has an annual cost of US$49.99, C$59.99, NZD 90.00, GB£39.99, or €59.99. As of May 14, 2008, Xbox Live has over 12 million subscribers.

  Xbox Live Marketplace

Xbox Live Marketplace

The Xbox Live Marketplace is a virtual market designed for the console that allows Xbox Live users to download purchased or promotional content. The service offers movie and game trailers, game demos, Xbox Live Arcade games, gamertag images, and Xbox 360 Dashboard themes as well as add-on game content (items, costumes, levels etc). These features are available to both silver and gold members on Xbox Live. A hard drive or memory unit is required to store products purchased from Xbox Live Marketplace. In order to download priced content, users are required to purchase Microsoft Points for use as scrip; though some products (such as trailers and demos) are free to download. Microsoft Points can be obtained through prepaid cards in 1,600 and 4,000 point denominations. Microsoft Points can also be purchased through Xbox Live with a credit card in 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 5,000 point denominations. Users are able to view items available to download on the service through a PC via the Xbox Live Pipeline website. An estimated seventy percent of Xbox Live users have downloaded items from the Marketplace

  Video Store

Xbox Video Marketplace

On November 6, 2006, Mic rosoft announced the Xbox Video Marketplace, an exclusive video store accessible through the console. Launched in the United States on November 22, 2006, the first anniversary of the Xbox 360's launch, the service allows users in the United States to download high-definition and standard-definition television shows and movies onto an Xbox 360 console for viewing. With the exception of short clips, content is not currently available for streaming, and must be downloaded. Microsoft has also announced that its Microsoft TV service will add functionality to the console, giving users the ability to stream 2 simultaneous HD and 2 simultaneous SD channels. Movies are also available for rental. They expire in 14 days after download or at the end of the first 24 hours after the movie has begun playing, whichever comes first. Television episodes can be purchased to own, and are transferable to an unlimited number of consoles. Downloaded files use 5.1 surround audio and are encoded using VC-1 for video at 720p, with a bitrate of 6.8 Mbit/s. Television content is offered from MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Turner Broadcasting, and CBS; and movie content is Warner Bros., Paramount, and Disney, along with other publishers.
After the Spring 2007 update, the following video codecs are supported:

H.264 video support: Up to 15 Mbit/s, Baseline, Main, and High (up to level 4.1) Profiles with 2 channel AAC LC and Main Profiles.

MPEG-4 Part 2 video support: Up to 8 Mbit/s, Simple Profile with 2 channel AAC LC and Main Profiles.

As a late addition to the December Xbox 360 update, 25 movies were added to the European Xbox 360 video market place on the December 11, 2007 and cost 250 Microsoft points for the SD version on the movie and 380 Microsoft points for the HD version of the movie. Xbox Live members in Canada featured the ability to go on the Xbox Live Marketplace as of December 10, 2007 with around 30 movies to be downloaded for the same amount of Microsoft Points.
On May 26, 2009 Microsoft announced the future release of the Zune HD (in the fall of 2009), the next addition to the Zune product range. This is of an impact on the Xbox Live Video Store as it was also anounced that the Zune Video Marketplace and the Xbox Live Video Store will be merged to form the Zune Marketplace, which will be arriving on Xbox Live in 7 countries initally, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland and Spain. [ Further details will be released at the Microsoft press confrence at E3 2009.

Playstation 2

    Playstation 2

  Release: 2000

Best Selling Playstation 2 games of all time.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (12 million)

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (9.53 million approximately: 7.13 million in US, 1.8 million in Japan,600,000 in UK, 14.89 million shipped)

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (9.21 million approximately: 8.2 million in US, 410,293 in Japan, 600,000 in UK)

Grand Theft Auto III (7.509 million approximately: 6.55 million in US, 358,917 in Japan, 600,000 in UK)

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (7 million)

  Final Fantasy X (6.6 million)

Final Fantasy XII (5.2 million approximately: 2.4 million in Japan 1.7 million in US, 1.1 million in Europe; 5.2 million shipped)

Kingdom Hearts(4.68 million approximately: 3.45 million in US, 1.23 million in Japan; 5.9 million shipped including Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Ultimate Hits)

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (4.44 million approximately: 3.6 million in Japan, 410,000 in Europe, 430,000 in North America; 4.88 million shipped)

Madden NFL 2005 (4.35 million in US)

Only a few million people had obtained consoles by the end of 2000 due to manufacturing delays. Directly after its release, it was difficult to find PS2 units on retailer shelves. Another option was purchasing the console online through auction websites such as eBay, where people paid over one thousand dollars for a PS2. The PS2 initially sold well partly on the basis of the strength of the PlayStation brand and the console's backward compatibility, selling over 980,000 units by March 5, 2000, one day after launch, in Japan. This allowed the PS2 to tap the large install base established by the PlayStation — another major selling point over the competition. Later, Sony added new development kits for game developers and more PS2 units for consumers.
A notable piece of advertising for the PS2 launch was accompanied by the popular "PS9" television commercial. 9 was to be the epitome of development, toward which the PS2 was the next step. The ad also presaged the development of the PlayStation Portable (first released in Japan on December 12, 2004).
Many analysts predicted a close three-way matchup between the PS2 and competitors Microsoft's Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube (GameCube being the cheapest of the three consoles and had an open market of games); however, the release of several blockbuster games during the 2001 holiday season maintained sales momentum and held off the PS2's rivals.
Although Sony, unlike Sega with its Dreamcast, placed little emphasis on online gaming during its first years, that changed upon the launch of the online-capable Xbox. Sony adapted in late 2002 to compete with Microsoft, with several online first–party titles released alongside it, such as SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs to demonstrate its active support for Internet play. Sony also advertised heavily, and its online model had the support of Electronic Arts. Although Sony and Nintendo both started out late, and although both followed a decentralized model of online gaming where the responsibility is up to the developer to provide the servers, Sony's attempt made online gaming a major selling point of the PS2.
In September 2004, in time for the launch of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Sony revealed a new, slimmer PS2 . In preparation for the launch of the new model (SCPH-70000), Sony stopped making the older model (SCPH-5000x) to let the distribution channel empty its stock of the units. After an apparent manufacturing issue caused some initial slowdown in producing the new unit, Sony reportedly underestimated demand, caused in part by shortages between the time the old units were cleared out and the new units were ready. The issue was compounded in Britain when a Russian oil tanker became stuck in the Suez Canal, blocking a ship from China carrying PS2s bound for the UK. During one week in November, British sales totaled 6,000 units — compared to 70,000 units a few weeks prior. There were shortages in more than 1700 stores in North America on the day before Christmas.
On November 29, 2005, the PS2 became the fastest game console to reach 100 million units shipped, accomplishing the feat within 5 years and 9 months from its launch. This achievement occurred faster than its predecessor, the PlayStation, which took 9 years and 6 months to reach the same benchmark.
Sony has announced that starting April 1, 2009 the PS2 would be retailing at the new price of $99.99.

Sega Dreamcast

The Ultimate Gaming System; SEGA Dreamcast

With good reason, Popular Science magazine recognized the Sega Dreamcast as one of the most important and innovative products of 1999. Impressive technical specifications, great games and an imaginative advertising campaign heralded the arrival of the latest system from a company known for groundbreaking video game systems.

History:
In 1997, the Saturn was struggling in North America, and Sega of America president Bernie Stolar pressed for Sega's Japanese headquarters to develop a new platform. Two competing teams were tasked with developing the console - a Skunkworks group headed by IBM researcher Tatsuo Yamamoto and another team led by Sega hardware engineer Hideki Sato.
Sato and his group chose the Hitachi SH4 processor architecture and the VideoLogic PowerVR2 graphics processor for their prototype. Yamamoto and his Skunkworks group also opted for the SH4, but with 3dfx hardware. Initially Sega opted to use the Skunkworks group's 3dfx-based hardware, even suggesting to 3dfx that they would do so. However, they eventually chose Sato's PowerVR based design. Sega's shift in design prompted a lawsuit by 3dfx that was eventually settled.
The Dreamcast was released in November 1998 in Japan; in September 1999 in North America and on October 14, 1999 in Europe. Despite problems with the Japan launch, the system's launch in the United States was successful. In the United States alone, a record 300,000 units had been pre-ordered and Sega sold 500,000 consoles in just two weeks (including a record 225,132 sold during the first 24 hours). In fact, due to brisk sales and hardware shortages, Sega was unable to fulfill all of the advance orders. Sega confirmed that it made US$98.4 million on combined hardware and software sales with Dreamcast with its September 9, 1999 launch. Four days after its launch in the US, Sega stated 372,000 units were sold bringing in US$132 million in sales.
Launch titles such as Soul Calibur, Sonic Adventure, Power Stone, and Hydro Thunder helped Dreamcast succeed in the first year. Sega Sports titles helped fill the void with no Electronic Arts sports games on the system. Dreamcast sales grew 156.5% from July 23, 2000 to September 30, 2000 putting Sega ahead of the Nintendo 64 in that period. However, Sony's launch of the much-hyped PlayStation 2 that year marked the beginning of the end for the Dreamcast.
On January 31, 2001, Sega announced that it was ending production of Dreamcast hardware by March of that year although the 50 to 60 titles still in production would be published. The last North American release was NHL 2K2, which was released in February 2002. With the company announcing no plans to develop a next-generation successor to Dreamcast, this was Sega's last foray into the home console business.
Although production of the Dreamcast ended, commercial games were still developed and released afterwards, particularly in Japan. Unreleased games like Propeller Arena and Half-Lifewere released on the Internet through warez groups and independent hackers. On February 24, 2004, Sega released their final first-party Dreamcast game, Puyo pop fever. Afterwards, a small number of games continued to be released, which were mostly conversions of arcade shooters based on the Sega's similar NAOMI arcade hardware.
The last Dreamcast units that Sega itself sold were sold through the Sega Direct division of Japan in early 2006. Although they were only refurbished units, they did come with the new Radilgy game and a phone card.
Software support of the console continues, with a variety of homebrew games, emulators and utilities being released for the system, such as a port of the Neo Geo game Last Hope. A variety of homebrew game development tools is available. In addition, several Dreamcast emulation projects have emerged including Chankast and nullDC

Commercial;

Commercial; (sonic adventure)

Coleco Vision

COLECO VISION

Atari 5200

  ATARI 5200

Wii

Best Selling Games:

Wii Sports (45.71 million

Wii Play (22.98 million)

Wii Fit (18.22 million)

Mario Kart Wii (15.4 million)

Super Smash Bros.

Concept:
Mario & Sonic at the Vancouver Olympics" is an announced sports game in development by Sega. It will be published by Nintendo for Japan and by Sega for North America and Europe. The game is officially licensed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through exclusive licensee International Sports Multimedia. The game is the third official crossover title to feature characters from both Mario and Sonic's respective universes. It will be released on the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS handheld in late 2009, and is the first official video game of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Mario & Sonic on the Wii and DS is a collection of events based on the Olympic Winter Games. Players can assume the role of a Nintendo or Sega character while competing against the others in these events. The game features all of the playable characters that were present in its predecessor, as well as some new characters.

Gameplay:
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games retains the gameplay mechanics of its predecessor, controlling an on-screen character through authentic Olympic events with the specific tailored controls for the Wii and DS. All of the playable characters from the previous game return, as well as some new characters.
The sequel introduces a Festival mode in the Wii version that lets players make their way through the entire Olympic Games, from opening ceremony to closure. Some of the events in the Wii game can use the Balance Board accessory, but it is not required.it has been announced via the Nintendo Channel, that this game will have WiiConnect24 capability and the player can use their Mii's in-game.
The multiplayer mode offers "co-op and competitive gameplay" whereas the DS version will use its wireless capabilities. The DS counterpart has "Adventure Tours" where players can accept quests and challenge bosses. DS Download Play is possible for those without an individual copy of the game.

Development:
In January 2009, a rumor supposedly from Spanish Nintendo magazine Nintendo Acción mentioned a sequel to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games will be created for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Both IGN and Eurogamer received confirmation on the games' existence, with IGN stating the game will be announced within the following month.Dennis Kim, licensing and merchandising director for the event, stated in February that a Mario & Sonic title "[is] being discussed and planned for Vancouver". Kim also stated "Vancouver 2010" and the IOC will share royalties from this game. In the same month, the sequel titled "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games" was officially announced via a joint press release by Sega and Nintendo on February 12, 2009. The game is being developed by Sega Japan under the supervision of Shigeru Miyamoto. This title is the third video game collaboration between Nintendo and Sega. According to gaming site IGN, development began immediately after the initial Olympic game was released in November 2007.

Sonic Unleashed
Here is the In-depth review for Sonic Unleashed (I only have played the 360, ps2, and Playstation3 versions of the game)

Sonic Unleashed was very anticipated by most fans (me especially i pre-ordered it 7 months before it came out) and it was a very great game that is worth the money spent on it. Sonic Unleashed begins with sonic leaping through Eggman's space fleet in hopes of finally stopping his plans for good, unfortunatly for our blue hero, the attack doesn't go as planned and Sonic winds up falling into a trap set by eggman. After Eggman rips the chaos emeralds out of Sonic the dark energy turns him into a werehog who (betcha couldn't guess this) only comes out at night time! Then sonic is thrown to earth as it is split apart. Once on earth sonic meets a little floating "thing" that he befrends and then follows him around, now the daytime stages are sonic at the peak of his glory, those levels have him going so fast that the camera and even the level music can't catch up with him, but then the werehog comes around and crushes the gameplay. The werehog levels play like a really bad game of God of War....so eh they no good.

The werehog levels start out enjoyable but they suck @$$ by like the third one, but the daytime stages are what make this game so frickin amazing. So for the daytime you start out on a nice peaceful village and take off runnin. (if you think he's fast at the beginning of the game wait until you level up his speed all the way!!!!!!!!) Sonic Unleashed kicks the butts of most games out there but due to the werehog it won't win the award for best sonic game ever...

E3 Trailer

MARIO vs SONIC

The battle thats as old as time itself who is better Mario or Sonic?
